Backyard Galaxy EP by Dam Swindle

Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed 2025 album "Open," Amsterdam house dons Dam Swindle are back with a new club-focused EP, "Backyard Galaxy," out in October on their own Heist Recordings imprint.

Where "Open" explored new sonic frontiers and bold collaborations, ‘Backyard Galaxy' is a love letter to the dancefloor and a return to the signature Swindle sound: groove-heavy, soulful, and deep. "Feel It Much?" kicks off the EP in classic Swindle style - a feel-good house cut built on warm pads, sugary synths, and soulful vocal coos. Already heavily road-tested in their summer sets, it's the kind of track that radiates effortless dancefloor charm. Title cut "Backyard Galaxy" follows, dialing up the energy with more front-foot drums, organic percussive chatter, and Latin flair. It's a driving, peak-time jam that hits hard but keeps its soul intact.

On the flip, "Rhythm Baby" could well be a long-lost US garage cut for the way it taps into New York swing. Balmy pads swirl around the deliciously deep drums, while lush piano stabs inject breezy energy. Last but not least is "What You Give," a retro-future house gem where cosmic synths and atmospheric vocals float over lively drums and bubbly bass. It's got playful swagger and classic grooves that exude golden-era house mastery.

The Dam Swindle alias has achieved house music royalty-like status across a storied 15-year career that includes three critically lauded full-lengths, collaborations with the likes of Tom Misch and Kerri Chandler, and a globetrotting touring schedule.
