Bad B EP by Balanka
Brazilian producer Balanka debuts new psychedelic tech house sound on Repopulate Mars with the Bad B EP.
Gabriel Veiga, aka Balanka, is a potent force in the Brazilian underground who is now making moves around Europe. His sound is always on the move and explores all forms of house and tech, with support from big names like Michael Bibi, Vintage Culture, and Mau P for his releases on some of the world's top labels.
This EP marks the beginning of my transition into indie dance and a deeper dive into psychedelia as a form of art. I've brought with me everything I've learned from what works on dance floors across Brazil, my home country, and blended it with my love for alternative rock and my roots in dance music.

"Bad B" kicks like a mule with steel-plated tech house drums and a sleazy vocal rap that brings a menacing edge. Add in fat bass and skewered synth stabs, and you have a sure-fire floor filler. "Fatal Blows" is another tight and tight tech house bouncer with funk in the bass and elastic basslines keeping things moving while chopped vocal fragments add to the rhythm and future feels. "Roll On" shuts down with another blend of hip-hop swagger and raw house thrills infused with cosmic synths and the sort of weight that makes the dance floor shake.
