Be Your Own Studio presents Be Vol. 5
The Be Your Own Studio label marks its fifth anniversary with the release of the milestone compilation Be Vol. 5.
Five years ago, Be Your Own Studio planted a flag for a radical idea: that the most powerful music is born from genuine emotion, not industry trends. Since its inception, the label has been a vibrant counterpoint to the mainstream, fostering a global community and a distinct vision focused on the true root of music - authenticity. This October, the label commemorates this incredible half-decade journey with the release of their most ambitious compilation to date: Various Artists - Be Vol. 5.
More Than a Label - A Global Family
The path to Vol. 5 has been defined by countless miles and connections: discovering boundary-pushing artists from every corner of the globe, championing diverse musical channels, and uniting a constellation of like-minded souls at transcendent live events.
But the most profound creation isn't a track or a release; it’s a family. Be Your Own Studio has become a genuine home - a collaborative sanctuary where artists are united by a singular, defiant spirit to create music that truly moves the listener. This compilation is the sonic testament to that ethos, showcasing the depth and breadth of this creative kinship.
The Sound of Emotion: A Deep Dive into Be Vol. 5
Be Vol. 5 is a double-disc masterpiece, meticulously curated to embody the label's journey from introspection to ecstatic release. It features 14 tracks that collectively define the Be Your Own Studio sound: emotive, atmospheric, and deeply immersive electronic music.
Be Vol. 5 (I) - The Foundation
The first volume sets a tone of powerful, evocative mood-building. Oxbin's "Breaking" immediately plunges listeners into the compilation’s emotional depth, perfectly transitioning into Nau Leone's "Freefall," a track that sonically mirrors its title. Look out for Ena B.'s "Daydream" for its transcendent melodic structure and the driving, complex rhythms of Bryn Liedl's "Reconcile," proving the label's focus on musical maturity.
Be Vol. 5 (II) - The Evolution
The second volume pushes the emotional landscape forward, exploring themes of hope and expansion. Oxbin returns with the aptly named "A Brighter Day," signaling an energy shift, while Unsui’s "A New Sky" offers a masterclass in atmospheric elegance. The compilation reaches its dramatic climax with OCKTIVE's philosophical finale, "How deep would you dive in?," a track that encapsulates the label's challenging, yet rewarding, journey.
