Theirs is a partnership steeped in mutual respect and long-standing admiration. Clara first discovered Crackazat's music via Instagram on her birthday in 2022 and was immediately captivated.

"I was immediately drawn to his music, but also to the way he connected it visually with nature through his reels. My first thought was: I'd love to work with him one day, our musical worlds could fit together beautifully."

Ben's admiration for Clara stretches back even further. More than twenty years ago, he first encountered her unmistakable voice through Jazzanova's classic "No Use."

"I was still a good eight years away from starting my own career in music, but as a musician and producer in training, I became an instant fan of her smooth, rich, and layered approach to vocals and harmony in electronic and jazz music."

The mutual appreciation never faded. Clara continued to follow Ben's artistic journey closely, particularly his acclaimed album Evergreen, which rekindled memories of the soulful electronic music that had inspired her own early work.

Their paths finally crossed in person during a trip to South Africa in 2023, where Clara joined one of Ben's live performances. While both artists remained focused on their individual projects, they promised to collaborate in the future, a promise that was eventually realized in late 2024. With Clara championing Ben's contribution to the Jazzanova "No Use" remix project and simultaneously seeking a collaborator to help reconnect her with the sophisticated electronic soul of her early releases, the timing finally felt right.

"Ben sent me two early drafts that I immediately connected with. One of them was based on a musical idea I had originally heard in one of his Instagram reels and had never forgotten. The inspiration was so strong that what was initially planned as two songs quickly became three. That's when the idea for the Harmony EP was born."

The result is "Harmony," a deeply personal three-track EP built around artistic trust, emotional honesty, and musical chemistry. Their creative process mirrors the title itself: Ben begins with sketches and musical foundations, Clara responds with lyrics, melodies, and vocal arrangements, and together they refine each piece into its final form.

While harmony is the thread that connects all three songs, each explores a different aspect of personal growth, self-acceptance, and human connection.

The first single, Better (out today), explores the internal battle between self-doubt and self-belief. Inspired by the tendency to overthink and hesitate, the song encourages listeners to move beyond their mental barriers and trust themselves. "Better is a hopeful song," says Clara. "It acknowledges the chaos of doubts inside our minds but ultimately encourages us to trust ourselves and keep moving forward." Driven by uplifting keys, warm grooves, and Clara's velvet vocals, Better is an elegant blend of electronic soul, jazz-infused house, and timeless songwriting.

The second single, I Want You To Know (My Heart Beats Slow) (out August 21st), turns towards a different kind of emotional reflection. Rather than focusing on uncertainty, it explores mature love, gratitude, and the quiet strength of relationships that deepen over time. "My idea of the song was to explore the sentence of 'I love you because of him' through a long-term relationship," Clara explains. "It's a poetic and emotional confession from someone who loved someone else in the past, but now loves another person in the present because of that past love. Not with overwhelming passion or burning intensity, but with something quieter: consistency, gratitude, trust, and a love that continues to grow over time." The phrase "my heart beats slow" became a symbol of that enduring connection. Sonically, the track embraces the duo's shared love of deep house, combining a sturdy 4/4 groove, shimmering keys, Benson-inspired guitar licks, and Clara's unmistakably soulful delivery.

Together, "Better" and "I Want You To Know (My Heart Beats Slow)" offer the perfect introduction to "Harmony" - a project that reconnects Clara Hill with the sophisticated electronic soul that helped define her career, while showcasing the rich musicality and emotional depth that have made Crackazat one of the UK's most respected contemporary producers.

"Harmony" is a celebration of connection, trust, and creative exchange - and marks the beginning of a collaboration that feels both entirely natural and long overdue.
