BotaniQ presents Summer Cuts Vol. 1

Dennis Cruz's BotaniQ unites a global cast of artists for its inaugural Summer Cuts compilation.

Marking its 10th release, following drops from head honcho Dennis Cruz and a carefully curated selection of guests, BotaniQ now expands its vision with "Summer Cuts," the label's first Various Artists compilation. Introducing a fresh set of debutants from Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, France, and the US, each bringing their own sound to the imprint while remaining connected by its shared musical outlook and identity, the seven-track collection lands in the heart of summer, bringing the label's most comprehensive project to date.

Opening the proceedings is label A&R Bizen Lopez, who sets the tone with "Yeah Get i7," a driving opener packed with rolling percussion and infectious swing. Bvstian and Stephano Franca follow with the lively and hypnotic rhythms of "Jungla Electrika," before Damelo and The Fellas inject low-end weight into "Pure." Elsewhere, Fede Aliprandi delivers the warm, skippy flow of "So Much More," Kyodai (IT) explores deeper, heads-down territory on "Hidden Souk," while Maahez and Oliver Marshak combine for the groove-led and bumping "Mala." Closing the compilation, French duo Messina and Rawling round things off with the funk-laced, sax-led grooves of "La Bamba."

Spanning eleven artists, six countries, and countless influences, "Summer Cuts" offers the broadest snapshot of BotaniQ since its launch last year. Diverse without feeling disjointed, the compilation celebrates individuality while remaining united by an instinctive understanding of groove and the dancefloor.
