DJ Alone Again is somewhat of a musically inclined mystery. His diverse talent is evident for all to hear on his collective SoundCloud pages and live gigs and sets throughout New York and beyond. His love of music extends from melodic 80s indie rock with his band Vain Pursuit - a band sounding like a mix between The War On Drugs and The Cure on the track 'Be With You' and Lennon post-Beatles on "Good Friends." To the melodic, modern deep house - akin to Kaytranada - you'll hear as his DJ Alone Again alias.

"Closer" is a track that oozes cool from the first chord. Imagine a dark dancefloor, hints of distant coloured light, wisps of smoke slowly crossing your vision, and then BAM! Crisp, live drums, a deep yet warm kick, and the sharp snare - which is in fact the edge of the snare drum being played - which accentuates the crisp feel. Fluctuating, reverberating chords set the audio stage for the main hook of the deep, phat, sub-bassline. Finally, some peppered vocal samples that echo like a half-memory "Come closer baby....You've got me here all night."

"Lose Control" is a track with vocals sampled from SWV - Rain (Acapella) and re-imagined. A track that harbours a breakbeat rhythm that is allowed space to breathe, further highlighting the other delicate components of the track. DJ Alone Again's ethereal chords form a dreamscape for his trademark voluptuous bassline. The subwoofer-friendly bass carries an almost upbeat melody. A track that is effortlessly deep yet intense, juxtaposed with soothing whooshes of pads from outer space. It's like taking a line of Ket quickly followed by a line of Coke in a bid to keep your feet on planet earth at the 5 am afterparty. Off-kilter, wavy, and impeccably leftfield.

Sonic Juncture was handed the reins to "Lose Control" and then told; Have at it. The result is a transformative piece of bass euphoria. The track has acid lines and 90s-esque keys added with a driving breakbeat - who thought that was possible? Initially staying relatively true to the original, Sonic Juncture slowly implements their identity like a whopping sub-bass, layered with addictive flute melodies, resulting in the track going from joyful breakbeat to peak-time dancefloor/muddy field rave track. It needs to be heard to be believed.
