Ethics by DJ Lily

DJ Lily, the head of Lilies Recordings, makes his forceful return to H-Productions with the highly conceptual five-track EP, Ethics.

The release is defined by its dark, unsettling conceptual framework - "Surveilled, recorded and used against you in Gothenburg, Sweden" - mirroring the provocative track titles themselves.

What makes "Ethics" particularly compelling is the radical creative constraint imposed on its production. All five tracks were created using a strictly analog and mono-imaged one-take recording method, limiting the palette to just two pieces of hardware: a Nava 909 and a Buchla 208c. This demanding, real-time approach lends the EP a raw, urgent intensity and a unique sonic signature that resists contemporary over-production.

The sound, captured in this intense analog setting, perfectly complements the EP’s pointed social commentary. Track titles like "Shareholders," "Non-Disclosure Edit," and the striking "Human Rights As Supply Chain Footnotes" blend political and corporate jargon with unforgiving, industrial-strength techno.
