Full Circle EP by Musclecars & Toribio
NYC's Musclecars and Toribio team up for the EP Full Circle on the Rhythm Section label.
New York's Musclecars & Toribio join forces for their debut release on Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section, with the "Full Circle EP" arriving late October 2025. The first single of the EP is available now, with legendary New Jersey DJ, producer, and vocalist Roland Clark joining the artists for "That's My Story," lending his inimitable voice to the soft & soulful composition Musclecars & Toribio lay down. Church organs, 909 kicks, and Latin grooves all complement Clark's confessional vocal, making for a perfect blend of the three maestro's styles.
"That's My Story" is a timeless track - paying homage to the various New York traditions laid down by Louis Vega, Timmy Regisford, Joaquin Claussell, Ron Trent et al - all heroes and collaborators of the composers who, with this effort, have surely now earned their place in the pantheon of American Soul Music.

Musclecars & Toribio's "Be Honest" maintains the confessional tone, it's a delicate slow-jam, rife with deep emotion as jazz-inflected keys glide over gentle, low-slung rhythm while heartfelt, vulnerable vocals take centre stage until the harmonies wash over in a gorgeous crescendo. Last up, "Agua De Florida" sees Musclecars & Toribio work with Melbourne-born, London-based virtuoso Audrey Powne, who masterfully plays the trumpet through a drum beat that doesn't let up, keeping you dancing through the night with a big grin on your face, because this is real music, with real soul.
Together, Musclecars and Toribio represent two vital voices in New York's dance music landscape. Brandon Weems and Craig Handfield, aka Musclecars, are the duo behind the Coloring Lessons party, label, and radio show, drawing on a lineage of Black and brown music to create their deep, soulful sound. Their collaborator Toribio is a Dominican-American DJ, producer, and bandleader whose projects span his live band Conclave and Brooklyn's Public Service block parties, with support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Theo Parrish, and beyond.
Founded by Bradley Zero in 2009 as a radio show and event series, Rhythm Section International evolved into a label in 2014 and has since become renowned for championing and developing the careers of talented artists like Chaos in the CBD, dreamcastmoe, Neue Grafik, and Serenda. Rooted in South London and followed worldwide, the collective also hosts a long-running NTS Radio show, has staged over 150 events since 2011, and recently expanded to running their Future Proof mentorship programme.
