Get Down EP by Essed

The two-tracker lands as the label moves further into its current phase, with the focus shaped around records designed for extended club use and consistent rotation long into the future.

Based in Naples, Essed's journey has been defined less by a single moment and more by the scale of where his music has featured. His work has received heavy love from heavyweights such as Marco Carola, Solomun, Fisher, Cloonee, Mau P, Wade, and Vintage Culture, with releases landing via Hellbent Records, Diynamic, Interscope, Criterio, Sola, and Moodchild, reflecting a catalog shaped in parallel with a truly global sound rather than any one lane.

Based on function and impact, that approach runs through "Get Down," a record built on driving precision and simmering pressure via high-energy grooves. In contrast, "Ritmo Sabroso" moves in a brighter, more vibrant direction. More fluid in its details, it draws on Latin-leaning rhythms and a looser groove, oﬀering a perfect counterpart to the title cut.
