Girl Jus Pull Up EP by BNinjas
The Girl Jus Pull Up EP by BNinjas is a vibrant, genre-blurring deep house journey that fuses jazz, funk, soul, and underground club energy with bold creativity.
BNinjas is a deep house producer from Kagiso, South Africa, known for his raw yet refined minimalist sound that blends MPC-driven drums with smooth, danceable grooves. Influenced by artists like Max Graef and Glenn Astro, he crafts music with subtle complexity and a deep underground feel. Since debuting in 2006 with Spunk! Records, BNinjas has released on respected labels including Time 2 House, House Salad Music, and Dealt With Records, where his latest Girl Jus Pull Up EP follows the success of 2024's Shake EP. With standout performances, including a 2024 set at Beast House in Saudi Arabia, he continues to shape the global deep house scene through innovation and authenticity.
From the smoky jazz-club ambience of Emulate Me to the confident, hook-driven swagger of the title track, the EP balances raw groove with polished production. N14 Road delivers trippy, layered textures over a funky backbone, while Pockets closes the record with high-octane 2-step flair and a bassline made for dancefloor indulgence. Together, these four tracks showcase BNinjas at his most inventive and danceable, pushing deep house into bold new territory.
The track, "Emulate Me," takes you downstairs into a packed, smoky, old jazz club. A double bass, sampled in many classic hip-hop tracks out of New York, sets the tone. Twinkling classic piano keys, scarce horns, and a shamanic vocal chant build the atmosphere. Finally, bubbly electro signals enter the scene, elevating this old jazz club to something off the beaten track.
The title track, "Girl Jus Pull Up," is a good reason. Beautifully simple, yet irresistibly catchy. The vocal hook, 'Umm, do you think you could pull up right now?' pitched down and repeated, gives the track serious attitude. It's the weekend, a party's in full swing, and this is the anthem setting the vibe. The production and mix showcase BNinjas at his best -edging into the mainstream- while keeping that gritty, underground essence. This is deep house making its mark in 2025.
Laying the groundwork on "N14 Road" is a bassline and funky beat, straight from the archives of old Soul Train episodes. Enter, from the left, the trippy, off-kilter sample sounds that truly elevate this track. Signature BNinjas. A crescendo of sounds coagulates over a funky bassline and crisp hand-clap snare drum. The collective groove, layered samples, and electronic squibbles take this future-proof groover to a higher plane. Enlightenment for the dancefloor psychonaut.
No messing around with this one. BNinjas isn't holding back on the energy on "Pockets," as the beat takes centre stage right from the start. The track builds around an old, dusty keyboard, delivering a slick 2-step groove. The real star of the show, however, is the smooth yet intricate bassline, guaranteed to have you vibing like you're at a roller disco hosted by Moodymann.
