Gran Turismo Sardinia 2026
Gran Turismo Sardinia 2026 is a luxury supercar tour of Sardinia on some of the best driving roads on the planet.
Sardinia 2026: The Emerald Circuit
Sardinia remains one of the few places on earth where the landscape seems specifically designed for the automobile. In September 2026, a limited group of thirty supercars will descend upon the Costa Smeralda to begin a seven-day odyssey - a 1,250 km loop of the island that balances high-octane technical driving with the refined tranquility of the Mediterranean lifestyle.
The Journey Begins: Into the Rugged Interior
The adventure commences at the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu, where the arrival of the cars marks the start of the circuit. The initial leg of the tour strikes south along the eastern coastline, leaving the glitz of the shore for the limestone peaks of the interior. Lunch in the harbor of Cala Gonone provides a brief seaside respite before the route climbs toward the wilder heart of the island near Oliena. At the Experience Hotel Su Gologone, the focus shifts to local heritage - traditional Sardinian cuisine and valley views that have remained unchanged for centuries.
Engineering Meets Nature on The Orientale Sarda
The centerpiece of the southern transit is the SS125 Orientale Sarda. Often cited as the finest driving road in existence, it offers a relentless sequence of hairpins and sweepers carved directly into the mountainside. After crossing the rugged heights and descending through Arbatax, the route softens as it reaches the southern tip. Two nights at the Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi allow for a change of pace, featuring scenic coastal loops around Villasimius and lunches overlooking the protected waters of Notteri.
The West Coast and the Final Lap
The transition to the west coast is defined by the SP105 between Bosa and Alghero. This cliffside road offers a technical challenge that rivals any Alpine pass, accompanied by a panoramic sunset over the sea. Accommodations at El Faro Hotel & Spa provide a gateway to the historic city of Alghero before the final northward push.
The journey concludes with a high-speed transit through the Gallura region. This final leg utilizes the SS132 and the fast, flowing SS427, cutting through granite outcrops and cork forests back toward the north. The loop finishes where it began: the Costa Smeralda. A final celebration in the harbor of Porto Cervo at Al Pescatore serves as the closing chapter of a week defined by 1,250 kilometers of driving bliss.
