Holy Noon by MAIKA & Bertram Burkert

"Holy Noon" is the first offering from a new collaboration between respected Cologne-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer MAIKA, and Conic Rose guitarist Bertram Burkert.

MAIKA is a sonic force - bold yet tender, complex yet immediate. Blurring the lines between explosive 80s energy, intricate harmonies, and raw emotion, her music refuses to be tamed. A voice like liquid fire cuts through pulsating synths and daring rhythms, weaving a world where vulnerability meets untamed power. As a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, MAIKA sculpts every sound with fearless precision. On stage, MAIKA doesn’t just perform - she creates an atmosphere: an unfiltered exchange of intensity and emotion. No formulas, no compromises. Just music as it was meant to be - alive, limitless, and unapologetically real. Her work has been recognized with multiple awards and has led her to tour extensively across Europe and Southeast Asia.

With "Holy Noon," MAIKA presents a powered-down composition that expands her sonic universe. Warm, layered, and grounded, the piece is built around intertwined guitar textures and spacious arrangements. While distinct from the more energetic core of her main project, the sound feels intimate and familiar - like a quiet room inside the same musical house. "Holy Noon" is a newly recorded rework of MAIKA’s original track of the same name, first released in 2024 on her album "Holy Noon," now re-imagined together with guitarist Bertram Burkert.

The track features Bertram Burkert, one of Germany’s most distinctive contemporary guitarists. A multiple award winner, he studied classical and jazz guitar at the highest level and moves effortlessly between jazz, classical, pop, and experimental music. He has released several acclaimed albums, composed for theater (Schaubühne Berlin), and is known for his highly refined, expressive playing and technical depth. In recent years, he has toured internationally, including Sydney Jazz Festival with his band Conic Rose and a three week Europe tour with Hania Rani.

MAIKA and Bertram Burkert first met at a festival in a forest - an encounter that quickly turned into a close musical friendship. "Holy Noon" grew out of this connection: a piece shaped by trust, warmth, and a shared sensitivity for sound, space, and restraint.
