Midnight Rhythm by Ivan Masa
Italy's Ivan Masa debuts on Non Merci Music with new single Midnight Rhythm and Label founder Fiona Kraft steps up with a remix.
Masa hails from Caserta, where his father ran a well-known club, and he began DJing from a young age. His sounds are steeped in a love of 80s house, acid, and tech, and have appeared on labels such as Urge To Dance, Diynamic Music, Einmusika, and many more. Meanwhile, DJs like Solomun and Pan-Pot have been strong supporters.
The captivating "Midnight Rhythm" constantly builds towards emotional release. Warm, soul-infused chords bounce in a way that recalls classic Detroit house with flashes of bright synth strings bringing the futurism, and vocals injecting urgency and passion. It's a sophisticated, unifying dance floor anthem designed for maximum impact.
Fiona Kraft has quickly established Non Merci Music as a vital platform for exciting emerging talents, thanks to her fine A&R. Her own music forms the backbone, and, like her DJ sets, explores everything from Afro to deep house, via tech, minimal, and progressive. This multi-talented creative also heads up the innovative eyewear brand IMPURI and shows plenty of class again here. Her remix ups the emotional intensity with the lush string stabs bringing drama and elegance while the tight bass and drums keep you locked.
