Morbus Mütze by Michael Reinboth
Compost Records presents techno-tinged, ocean-deep instrumental two-tracker Morbus Mütze, Michael Reinboth's second release under his real name.
“Neurodiversity” reflects the realms of the 80s, while the title track “Morbus Mütze” hypnotizes with its soaring analog embellishments and arpeggio leads (in the Incurable mix).
Both are sleek, powerful journeys through shimmering Fairlight sounds and tech beats, produced with Jan Krause (Beanfield) and mixed by Sasse, with a cover image by Ena Oppenheimer.
Morbus Mütze is a secret term used by doctors to describe patients with hypochondria. These are people who never actually have anything concrete to show for their condition, but constantly imagine that they do. Neurodiversity is a term from a concept in which neurobiological differences are seen and respected as one human disposition among others; since the concept encompasses people of all neurological statuses, all people are to be considered neurodiverse.
After early Beanfield productions, circa 20 remixes (some old ones labelled simply Compost Remixes), more than 30 compilations and 30+ years of running Compost, a few 12”s under alter egos, Compost boss Michael Reinboth finally decides to liberate the alias and mystic.
