Pulsion EP by Frank Biazzi

Frank Biazzi debuts on Nicole Moudaber's MOOD with the Pulsion EP.

He starts things off with "Feel The Pressure," which is rooted in vast, cavernous bass and rolling drums, but with twitchy synths that keep you on your toes as blasts of texture and whispered vocals fill out the spaces.

Title track "Pulsion is pure, unadulterated body music with drums that nail you to the floor and hits hammering away up top as elongated synth loops try to break free from the mix but keep getting folded back in. Closing the EP, "Relax" is a third full-throttle cut that generally favors swelling melody and ornate decoration over fulsome rhythmic fundamentals and echoing claps.

Frank Biazzi is a Belgian Techno DJ and producer who cut his teeth in the late 90s and held down long-running residencies at iconic spots like Lagoa for years. His early weapon, "Turbulence," blew up quickly and was backed by Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, and Christian Smith, which locked his name into the scene early on. He is now a regular on labels like Intec, Tronic, and Suara after stepping away in 2004 due to tinnitus, and he returned with a bang in 2014.
