Pussy Disco by PdqB
Perzeptiver Dampfkessel Qualmt Besinnlich is just an alias of PdqB, and this is what happens when he is let loose.
Behind this project stands pdqb - an anonymous force known for cognitive abductions and creative drain. He doesn't collaborate; he kidnaps, moves on, and leaves people behind.
This time, the subject was taken from a Munich beer garden and relocated to Hong Kong, where he now works as a janitor and unknowingly produces quiet, atmospheric music. How Synaptic Cliffs came to release these tracks is irrelevant - the label lost control long ago. pdqb took that too.
The release features 21 tracks - each one unmistakably beautiful, quietly confident, and effortlessly distinct. Not a weak moment, not a filler in sight. This is what happens when creativity wins.
After finishing his shift in a vast high-rise complex in Hong Kong, PdqB (Peter, der querulante Bayer), a janitor, descends into the city's lower layers and retreats to his rented basement storage unit. Every evening, he plays his electronic music - slow, deep, and resonant - loud enough to dissolve the city's restless hum and let the bass seep gently into his soul. He leaves the heavy steel door slightly ajar; the darkness below would otherwise be too intense, too consuming. Drawn by the low, breathing pulse of the sound, cats emerge from hidden corners and shadowed corridors.
To them, the music is irresistible. One by one, they gather unseen around him. PdqB sits motionless, eyes closed, lost in meditation. He does not notice the silent assembly. Around him, the cats begin to move - swaying to the hypnotic rhythm, circling slowly, brushing against one another, their bodies tracing soft patterns in the dark. For a while, the underground space becomes something else entirely: a hidden chamber, a shared dream, a place between worlds. When the final tones fade and PdqB packs up his equipment, the spell dissolves. The cats vanish as quietly as they came, slipping back into shadow. He never sees them, and they never ask to be seen. No acknowledgment is needed. Two worlds exist side by side, touching only through sound.
The CD you hold gathers the most-played pieces from these nights, inviting you to enter that hidden space yourself - a place where time slows, the city fades, and the weight of the day is gently forgotten.
