Searchin' (THEMBA Remix) by Damian Lazarus feat. Jem Cooke
The South African Afrohouse star THEMBA makes his Crosstown Rebels debut with a stirring interpretation of, Searchin', by Damian Lazarus feat. Jem Cooke.
Crosstown Rebels welcomes one of Afrohouse’s foremost talents as THEMBA makes his label debut with a powerful remix of Damian Lazarus and Jem Cooke’s emotive single "Searchin’." Set to drop on 15th August, the two-track package features a full-length Club Remix and a streamlined Remix Edit, offering two versions of the striking reinterpretation.
Originally the lead single from Lazarus’ acclaimed fifth album "Magickal," "Searchin’" saw the Crosstown Rebels head honcho reunite with renowned singer/songwriter and vocalist Jem Cooke for a moment of raw, melodic intensity. THEMBA’s remix builds on that foundation and takes it into expansive, Afro-infused club territory, layering hypnotic percussion, deep rolling grooves, and subtle atmospheric shifts that heighten the emotion and push the track into new late-night spaces.
A central figure in the global Afro-house movement, South Africa’s THEMBA continues a prolific run of recent work, which includes remixes for the likes of Vintage Culture through to Calvin Harris, David Guetta & Sia, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, as well as standout sets at Red Rocks, Hï Ibiza, Stadium Orange Vélodrome, and KOKO London. With his remix of ‘Searchin’, he adds another defining moment to a rapidly evolving journey and steps into the Crosstown Rebels fold for the very first time in impressive fashion.
