Show Us The Way by MF Robots

The fourth single from the forthcoming long player from MF Robots, Show Us The Way, is an energetically vibrant departure from the previous singles.

Reflecting Jan Kincaid's love of Brazilian music and Jazz and their club derivatives, even in the earlier stages of the song's creation, it was obvious something deeper was in motion in terms of where the song was going, and together with Dawn Joseph in an exciting writing session, the subject matter started to come together.

Dawn says: “I was born on an Island (Jersey) so I've always been acutely aware of the proximity of Nature and how important it is to me and to all of us”.

Jan says: “Lyrically the song became a love letter to the natural world, but also a lament to how we as a people have abused and neglected our home planet in the name of greed way beyond our needs and how many people are feeling a sense of helplessness in the face of mass industrialisation and climate change fallout etc., with a lack of real coordination between nations with a common objective to save our planet”.

The song is a musically dramatic journey propelled by Jan's full percussion section, driving keys, a solid bass, and Brazilian guitar courtesy of Chris Franck of Da Lata. The vocals are a beautifully blended mix of Dawn's and Jan's vocals, with a nod to Sergio Mendes and George Duke, with moments of high drama climaxing in Dawn's almost gospel riffing over the end chant of "Mother Nature… show Us the way..." it's a wild, urgent ride that ends with a recording of a large forest, with birds and wild stags having the final words into the fade.
