The Brazilian talent Balanka makes his Collecting Dots debut with the new two-track EP, Shut Up.

Brazilian talent Balanka steps up to Collecting Dots Records, the label launched earlier this year by OMRI., with his striking label debut "Shut Up." The two-tracker introduces a new side to his growing sound, adding indie dance influences to floor-focused grooves, while building on the label's growing catalogue of forward-thinking drops.

Title track "Shut Up" combines sharp, hooky vocal cuts, punchy drums, and a gritty low-end, while "I Can't W8" dives deeper into trippy, late-night territory with warped textures, trippy vox, and hypnotic drive. Speaking about the EP, Balanka explains: "This EP marks the beginning of my transition into indie dance realms and a deeper dive into psychedelia as a form of art. I've brought with me everything I've learned from what works on dancefloors across Brazil, my home country, and blended it with my love for alternative rock and my roots in dance music."

Debuting in 2024, Balanka is the project of Gabriel Veiga, who has already won heavyweight support from Vintage Culture, Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones, Beltran, and Mau P. He continues to build global momentum with material across respected imprints, and this outing on Collecting Dots brings one of his most defining releases to date.
