The stunning final single before the release of his landmark album From The Hill, Charles Webster joins forces with Bokani Dyer for soul-deep collaboration, The Artist.

With this next movement, Charles Webster connects with South African architect of new jazz, Bokani Dyer, for a moment of calm clarity that sits comfortably between house and jazz, titled "The Artist."

Marking his return since his award-winning Radio Sechaba album release (2023) and performing festival stages across the globe, Bokani Dyer unveils his distinct voice, both as a pianist and storyteller, within Charles' world of refined, leftfield house as a framework. What follows is a musical conversation between two artists at ease with detail, purpose, and feeling.

"The Artist" rounds off a thoughtful run of singles with an array of South Africa's top artists collaborating with Charles Webster - "Bakulindele" (Muzi), "Free" (Atmos Blaq), "Many Blessings" (China Charmeleon & Girly Mbambani), and "Rain" (EMAMKAY & Bokang Ramatlapeng), each one carving its own space to breathe and shine.

This track, "The Artist," sets the final tone for what's to come, the final note before the album lands.

For "From The Hill," Allan Nicoll, aka Kid Fonque, and Charles Webster brought together the cream of the South African deep house scene for a unique album. Significantly, the project was recorded at Flame Studios, built inside a former prison which used to house Nelson Mandela himself at one point during Apartheid, and located at Constitution Hill in South Africa, where the country's constitution was written once Apartheid was ended. Accompanied by a behind-the-scenes documentary film, the album arrives on November 14th.
