UK-born, Italy-based Patrick Gibin unveiled his 2024 debut album, "Strength In Numbers," after years of exploring a classic yet contemporary fusion of house, broken beat, and 80s sounds. The widescreen record that explores house, acid, mellow grooves, and collaborations with greats like Kaidi Tatham and Sandra St. Victor. Now, Gibin taps Brooklyn legend Joaquin Joe Claussell for reinterpretations of three standout cuts from the album.

First up, Claussell flips "Let It Go" featuring Kaidi Tatham into one of his signature sacred rhythms with live bass, jazzy keys, and life-affirming melodies that warm you to your core. It's an unhurried, rich musical expression before "Joint Purpose" (Joaquin’s Teenage Music Version) delivers a more raw and driving approach - taking deep house atmospheres but rewiring them with otherworldly cosmic energy, he summons up plenty of ritualistic magic. "In This Together" (Joaquin’s Cosmic Arts Story for Bakki Sora) is a 14-minute masterpiece that slowly awakens like the dawn of a new day, full of hope and possibility. The live drums shimmer, and the synth sequences rise before things cut loose into dense jazz-dance territory.

Next is another version of "Joint Purpose" (Joaquin’s Thee Artistic Vintage Lower East Side NYC Squatters Dub Dub), a stripped-back but potent house cut with primal drums and a dark sense of soul lingering in the shadows. Closer, "In This Together" (Joaquin’s Voices of Innocence Version), is an improvised jazz workout with off-grid hits and rim shots, knotted bass and unrelenting pressure all building towards sheer dancefloor rapture that takes you to a higher emotional plane.

Alongside co-founders Francois K and Danny Krivit, Joaquin Joe Claussell is the heartbeat of the seminal Body & Soul parties in New York and is an acclaimed remixer, founder of Spiritual Life Music & Sacred Rhythm Music, and record store owner who brings otherworldly soul and spiritualism to his sounds - as he does once again here.
