The Spirit of Hardgroove EP by Mark Williams

Mark Williams returns to Hardgroove with the four-track EP, The Spirit of Hardgroove, featuring a collaboration with Siobhan Waters.

Fresh from dropping his massive 21-track "The Future That Created My Past" album on DJ Bone's further imprint, Mark Williams returns to Hardgroove with "The Spirit of Hardgroove EP" in late February.

Mark Williams is a UK Techno stalwart. A hugely prolific artist in the 1990s and early 2000s, Williams was one of a handful of artists who fit the Ben Sims-coined "Hardgroove" mold. Following a brief hiatus, he has returned to the Techno scene with vigour, dropping a run of releases that have reignited the interest in the veteran producer and introduced his sound to a new generation.

"The Spirit of Hardgroove EP" finds Mark Williams drawing on a myriad of vibes across four tracks. Whether it's the rave-y vocal snips and stabs of opener "The Secret," the intense beatdown of "Love," the broken idiosyncratic funk and soul of "In The Groove" featuring Siobhan Waters, or the utterly unique melodies of the title track, "The Spirit Of Hardgroove," shows that this is Williams in impeccable form.
