GruuvElement's folds R&B and hip hop into two new sultry and sophisticated house tunes on Motel Calypso Records.

Romanian-born GruuvElement's consistently infuses his work with compelling rhythms that are well-designed and perfectly suited for the club. His discography encompasses a wide range of the scene's finest labels, including Fuse Records, elrow Music, Solid Grooves, Moan, and Paco Osuna's Mindshake.

He has a knack for tribal percussion that always gets a physical response, and on this new EP for Massi Rocket's ever more vital Motel Calypso Records, he again explores fresh new worlds where minimal and tech house collide.

The wonderful "Thriller" kicks oﬀ with a choppy groove built from oﬀ-grid drums and hits that are underpinned with a warm bassline that pulses and throbs with erotic tension. That's heightened by the soft, R&B-infused male vocals that layer in ever more intimacy to this most hot and steamy sound.

Then comes "Perfect," a busier aﬀair but still laden with silky sound deigns and warming undertones. The pads are rich and diﬀuse, the drum fills bring energy, and the vocals here are rapped and chopped to convey attitude, before hooky trumpets provide a playful finish.
