Fresh out of the Dutch Royal Conservatory, Amsterdam-based DJ and producer D Stone is already making a name for himself as one of the underground scene's most talked-about emerging talents. Following a superb run of form on labels like 803 Crystal Grooves, Smiile, and Semi Delicious–and key backing from tastemakers such as Barry Can't Swim and Folamour–he now lines up a dream pairing on Dam Swindle's Heist Recordings with the "Time Selection EP."

The EP opens with "Yes I Am," a stripped-back yet infectious house cut with driving 909 percussion, playful vocal chops, and lush piano flourishes atop a rolling bassline and retro flutes. It's a breezy groove that works as both a mid-set palate cleanser or an early-hours mood-setter. "Move Over" sees D Stone tap into early Chicago house, blending ELY's nostalgic electro-pop vocals with timeless pianos and classic drum work. The title cut "Time Selection" is the EP's most peak-time moment, built around a bold piano theme, punchy 909s, disco-leaning FX, and sweeping strings that deliver a heady dose of euphoria.

On the flip, "One Thing" leans into a more laidback, bass-led swagger, full of retro-future charm and melodic subtlety, before "Everything From The Organ" closes out with D Stone's love for throwback rave energy at the fore: colourful organ sequences, tight grooves, and rushes of soulful diva vocals.
