The Belgian producer Philippe Petit releases the new EP, United, on Ben Sims' Symbolism label.
Philippe Petit follows up his 2024 "Fossil EP" on Symbolism with "United," a five-track EP that displays the Chamonix-based veteran's knack for intense, memorable techno.
The title track on "United," a saturated roller with a cyclical four-note hook, opens the release before the clipped, resonating stabs of "Blast" unfurl. The stripped-back, tumbling drums of "Confused" follow in true minimalist style while the stomping eeriness of "Unexpected Event" brings us to the closer, the shifty, juddering "Volatility."
Releasing since the early 2010s for Figure, RSPX and his own Knotweed imprint, Philippe Petit's latest EP is a classy affair that's been seeing support from Dave Clarke, Tasha, Blasha & Allatt, DJ Bone and many more.
