Wanna Dance - The Remixes by Francesca Lombardo
Francesca Lombardo unveils the Wanna Dance - The Remixes compilation on Echolette Records.
Following the success of last year's "Wanna Dance EP," Francesca Lombardo and Echolette now unveil "Wanna Dance - The Remixes," a bold reimagining of her original through distinct lenses, each exploring new emotional and sonic terrain. Featuring two winners from the label's "Wanna Dance" remix competition, as well as fresh interpretations from friends and respected peers, the release captures the spirit of collaboration at the heart of Echolette's ethos, bringing together a global community of artists whose shared language is texture, rhythm, and feeling - with this package showcasing six of the project's interpretations.
Leading the charge, Parisian duo Birds of Mind team up with acclaimed French producer Selim Sivade - formerly one half of Villanova - to deliver a remix that hits hard and deep. Built on a gritty bassline and hypnotic vocals, their version channels pure warehouse energy: expansive, cinematic, and made for the big room. Showcasing a bolder, club-driven direction for the duo, it captures a new side of their sound while keeping their unmistakable sense of atmosphere. From Beirut, Nesta crafts a deeply immersive take defined by rolling sub-bass, crisp percussion, and restrained tension, the sound of long nights and after-hours spaces. A true regional pioneer with an international outlook, he channels the spirit of elegant minimalism and cross-cultural energy into his interpretation.
Pushing further into left-field territory, Mikolai & Hyacin deliver the aptly titled Intergalactic Bassline Remix, where Lombardo's vocal fragments are refracted through oscillating synths and modulated low-end pressure. The result is a cosmic, club-focused trip that stretches the track's emotional centre into bold new forms. On the darker, acid-laced end of the spectrum, Scottish producer Carson (Gary Carson) unveils his Acid Redux, an intricate rework built around groove and tactile production detail. His remix captures the refined, late-night energy that has long defined his sound.
Across the Atlantic, Saqib injects his trademark cosmic house and disco flair - a heady fusion of rhythm and melody that reflects his cross-continental influences and Brooklyn-based creative energy. With his rework, the track morphs into something playful and unpredictable, a celebration of movement and musical instinct. Closing the collection, Golden Tempo delivers a live-infused version full of warmth and funk-fuelled textures, highlighting their innate blend of indie dance, nu disco, and house.
"Wanna Dance - The Remixes" stands as both a creative extension of Francesca Lombardo's original and a statement of Echolette's continuing evolution - a label that thrives on connection, experimentation, and the artistry of reinterpretation. Prioritising artistry over trends, Echolette curates music designed not just to be played, but to be felt, and "Wanna Dance - The Remixes" captures that philosophy in every note.
