You, Me and The Moon by Peter and Kerry
Get ready for Peter and Kerry's highly anticipated new album, You, Me and the Moon - a beautiful journey and a fresh perspective on life's experiences.

Peter and Kerry’s journey has always been one of creative synergy, their paths running parallel while maintaining their individuality. Kerry Leatham, a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer from Essex, was raised by a Northern Irish mother and a Dominican father. Peter Lyons, from Southampton, spent his formative years experimenting with borrowed tape recorders and hand-me-down instruments.
In 2010, both were signed to the revered UK indie label Tape Club Records, known for its DIY ethos. The two quickly bonded over The Simpsons and Fleetwood Mac, leading to a summer of musical collaboration and the release of their Clothes, Friends, Photos EP. Though initially intended as a one-off project, the chemistry between them was undeniable. Encouraged by BBC and mainstream TV support, they continued working together, culminating in their critically acclaimed debut LP, La Trimouille, in 2012.
After years of touring and pursuing solo projects, Peter and Kerry reunited in 2016, only to have their resurgence halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, fifteen years after their first meeting, they return with "You, Me and the Moon" - an album shaped by experience, maturity, and self-awareness.
The twelve-track record reflects their growth as songwriters, addressing personal and societal themes with a newfound confidence. They explore topics such as the rising cost of living, media influence, and corporate greed, alongside more intimate narratives of love, loss, and self-discovery. No longer as vulnerable as they once were, they embrace a sharper, more direct honesty in their music.
At the core of their sound remains strong songwriting and melody, evident in the album’s singles. "All I’ve Got Are My Dreams" serves as an uplifting escape from the relentless cycle of modern capitalism. "Heartbeat" critiques the disillusionment of navigating the major label music industry, while "I Hope That We Never Fit In" champions the power of nonconformity in a world that often demands otherwise.
The album also delves into deeply personal reflections. "I Can Only Swim In Memories" explores the bittersweet transition out of a meaningful relationship, embracing gratitude alongside heartbreak. "It’s The Best Way" and "The Last Time I Saw Her" reflect on closure, while "Moss" celebrates the life of a friend who passed too soon. "By The Sea One Day" speaks to the longing for escape from city life, while "In The Morning" takes a lighthearted look at the importance of having big conversations sober - a nod to their early songwriting days of crafting imaginary stories.
The album comes full circle with its title track, "You, Me and the Moon," which shifts the focus from endings to beginnings. Inspired by a teenage friend’s idea of gazing at the moon as a connection between distant loved ones, Peter and Kerry transform this sentiment into a heartfelt closing moment: I have no thoughts, except this one of you and I staring up at the same moon tonight.
Now signed to Berlin’s renowned Sonar Kollektiv, Peter and Kerry’s music reaches a broader audience while staying true to the fans who have supported them for over a decade. Their sound blends high-end digital production with vintage reel-to-reel machines, 1960s BBC ribbon microphones, phone voice memos, and toy cassette recorders - a nod to Peter’s early fascination with DIY recording techniques.
With "You, Me and the Moon," Peter and Kerry cement their place as storytellers unafraid to reflect, question, and evolve. They will continue touring with their latest live band incarnation, performing new material alongside old favorites for audiences worldwide.
