Bass Hit Thick with Void
House disrupter Void debuts on Repopulate Mars with the two-track Bass Hit Thick EP.
Void is part of a fresh wave of artists bringing a new perspective to house music, blending rap energy and attitude with heavy-hitting production. Known for turning out killer edits, Void first caught the attention of Cloonee and GORDO with his standout rework of Drake's "Search & Rescue." Since then, he has released on labels such as Somethin’ Light, Gritty, Bump N’ Grind, and Loving Plague, before now making his debut on Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars.
The inspiration behind my "Bass Hit Thick" EP was one that came from spending hours on Ableton, going through different bassline presets, which eventually led me to discover the deep, gritty-sounding synth that carries both basslines of the tracks in the EP.
Void
"Bass Hit Thick" is a robust tech house cut with a menacing, textured low end that flows freely throughout the mix. Rapped vocals bring a sleazy edge, while future synth designs finish this engaging cut in style. "Losing My Mind" follows suit with another kinetic groove where a spraying bassline drives under ice-cold synths and a dehumanized voice that brings an air of paranoia.
