Damn EP by Hyde (OFC)
USA-based Hyde (OFC) arrives on South of Saturn with the debut two-track Damn EP.
Ricky Benevento, aka Hyde (OFC), is earning a reputation in the underground dance music circuit for his electrifying blend of house and techno, infused with the soulful echoes of hip-hop, R&B, funk, disco, and more. Fresh off his recent Repopulate Mars debut with "Quiero Mas - a collaboration with fellow US-based artist Damelo on the label’s tastemaking Repopulate Stars series - Hyde (OFC) now heads to sister imprint South Of Saturn with a bomb EP.
It’s always been a huge goal of mine to land on Repopulate Mars and South Of Saturn, both of which I’m super proud to have done this year. The "Damn EP" has been a long time in works and I’m beyond excited to share this with everyone.
Hyde (OFC)
Title cut "Damn" sets the tone with a slick blend of crisp rolling drums, infectious female vocals, playful synth touches, and a floor-shaking bassline that never lets up. "Whatcha Sayin" then doubles down, pairing stripped-back grooves with no-nonsense rapped vocals and rumbling sub-bass set to rattle the speakers and keep dancers on their toes.
