Jazzanova - The Remixes 2006-2016

To celebrate twenty years of their remix productions, Jazzanova has collected their finest works on a new nine-track CD and 2x 12" vinyl spanning the last decade.

It was in the summer of 1997 when the very first Jazzanova remix was released, and it came in the form of United Future Organization's "Friends... We'll Be" on Gilles Peterson's Talkin' Loud. Said remix can be found on the first edition of what, with this release, becomes a three-part compilation series. The first part covered the early years from 1997 to 2000, the second episode paid tribute to the years from 2002 to 2005, and this third sequel takes care of the last decade.

All of the nine tracks included still sound as fresh as the day they were released. Starting with the remix of "Listen To The Drums" by Outlines, which evolved into a worldwide club hit over the years, the release then takes in remixes of Furry Phreaks' "All Over The World" and Heritage Orchestra's "Skybreaks" which, with their deep and jazzy style and lush musicality, both defy the fact they are ten years old.

The now trademark sound of Jazzanova continues through the classic 2009 remix for Atjazz's "Parallels" and impeccable funk and soul re-rubs of Hugh Masekela’s "Stimela" and Joe Bataan’s "Ordinary Guy". Though they have put out many killer cuts in their time, another one that simply had to be included here is the remix of "Believer" by Paul Randolph from 2007. It was this remix that was somehow the start of a long-term relationship that culminated in Paul becoming the regular guest singer of Jazzanova, with whom they’ve toured worldwide since 2009.

To top off this great selection, there’s the re-work of the forgotten, but recently re-issued "Naze" by Spinning Motion as well as a singular take on Malika Ayane's "Dimentica Domani".

All in all, this is an unmissable collection of feel-good, mature, and musical tracks that will warm any dancefloor through as winter continues to bite.
