Dutchman ADJUMA started out as a ghost producer before stepping out of the shadows. He is now deeply entrenched in the Afro-house scene but transcends the genre with his rich array of different inspirations and influences. He has released on VOD, My Other Side of the Moon and of course Connected.
First up he offers an Ancient Dub Mix of "Moksi" that makes for a deeply spiritual sound, with synths fizzing up through the mix as organic, woody, and prickly percussion brings the groove alive. Distant vocal chants and hefty bass drums make for a powerful and moving sound. The original is a more paired back sound with the vast pinging kicks overlaid with dark synth stabs. Twanging chords, shakers, and all manner of percussion peppering the groove as it boldly rolls onwards and locks in the dance floor.
