British singer-songwriter Kyra returns with two powerful new singles, Strong Ones and Need a Moment, on Yellow Car Recordings.

West London singer-songwriter Kyra makes her long-awaited return with "Strong Ones," out now via Yellow Car Recordings. Her first release since 2023's acclaimed EP as things grow, "Strong Ones" marks the beginning of a new chapter in Kyra's artistry - one that sees her leaning further into the soulful-jazz sound she has become known for, while opening up space for deep emotional honesty.

Co-written by Kyra and Orla Rae, and produced by James Berkeley, "Strong Ones" is a soul-infused ballad that blends warm organ-style chords with a groove-led bassline and expressive trumpet lines, played by Jackson Mathod. Kyra's commanding vocal takes centre stage, delivering a performance that is both powerful and vulnerable.

I wrote "Strong Ones" as an ode to myself and for anyone who is always the saviour for others. We always check in on the ones falling apart, but rarely, the ones holding it all together.

The release of "Strong Ones" follows an exceptional period of live growth for Kyra. Since the release of her EP, as things grow, she has taken to stages across the UK and beyond, including a five-city tour with Elli Ingram, a multi-appearance at Global Soul's Showcase Special at KOKO, and her first sold-out headline show in early 2024. That same year, Kyra showcased at SXSW with Jazz re:freshed Outernational, became the face of Jazz Re:fest at the Southbank Centre, and was invited to perform as a guest vocalist for Jazz Voice, the opening gala for the EFG London Jazz Festival 2024, before closing the year with her own LJF headline show at The Lower Third.

This new era sees Kyra exploring the many layers of womanhood - from resilience and care to exhaustion and self-recognition. "Strong Ones" is the first of several singles to come over the next year, each one continuing her mission to have honest and open conversations about the realities women face behind their smiles and strength.

The track "Need a Moment" is a slow, soulful R&B song that lingers in the back of your head for the rest of the day, and it also makes you want to press the repeat button one more time.
