Berlin-based trio Dina Summer, the new wave/electronic band project of Local Suicide and Kalipo, returns this summer to Iptamenos Discos with their new single "Alien," a tightly spun 80s-influenced dance track with otherworldly vibes. The song sees Dina Summer delve further into minimal wave territory, stripping back a synth-driven dancefloor arrangement to emphasize its pulsating bassline and unearthly vocals.

It draws inspiration from electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk. It captures a range of retro-futuristic sounds - indicative of how this artist moves flexibly between the past and the future. Exploring the idea of "other" through an extraterrestrial narrative, the song is a tribute to outsiders and "freaks" and serves as a metaphor for acceptance, openness, and communication.
