Born in Málaga in 1977, José Barranquero has followed a musical path driven by a constant search for new forms of expression. He began his journey as a self-taught guitarist at the age of 16, playing in various rock, blues, and funk bands along the Costa del Sol. His passion and talent led him to win the Rock & Surf contest in Fuengirola with the band Infusión, where he shared the stage with respected flamenco artist Ismael Tamayo, a collaborator on the track "Opmeit Le" (El Tiempo in reverse).

At 21, driven by the need to expand his musical language, Jose Barranquero delved into jazz studies under the guidance of guitarist Carlos Pino, marking the beginning of his professional career. He became part of the local jazz scene, collaborating with numerous musicians and performing in hotels, events, and clubs while attending masterclasses with renowned artists such as Pat Metheny, Gary Willis, and John Scofield. In 2004, he moved to Barcelona, where he continued his studies and expanded his network of collaborations. During this period, he also taught at various music schools and participated in the Barcelona Jazz Festival alongside singer Inma Gomes, who also lends her voice to the album's title track, "Exosfera."

It was no coincidence. I wanted an album created from a place of calm - without rush, without constraints. To do exactly what I felt like, without thinking about what it "should" be. That's why "Exosfera" doesn't follow any rules or meet any predetermined expectations.
José Barranquero

His sonic exploration led him to meet producer and DJ GarcyNoise (Rubén García Zarranz), with whom he began working as a session musician. Together, they have created music for commercials, artist albums, and sound libraries. From this collaboration emerged "Exosfera," his first solo project, where he blends his instrumental background with electronic experimentation.
