Godspeed by Norah Jane x Mor.lov

It all pretty much started after Kray.Atief and Mor.lov booked Norah Jane for a small gig at Bar Bario. That’s where the idea of working on some jungle breaks with Norah on vocals first took shape. After a few sessions, including work on the track "Godspeed," it became clear that together, they could create a substantial body of work. This collaboration led to the album "Godspeed" - 16 tracks selected from a pool of 30. The album ranges from UK jazz to fusion to lofi-jazzy beats, all complemented by Norah Jane’s lush and amazing vocals.

Norah Jane, a 20-year-old from Amsterdam who grew up in Almere, has been musically inclined from a young age, playing instruments and showcasing her talented voice. Over the years, she has released several DIY projects and collaborated with other emerging artists from her generation. Her experience is evident and showing in her new work, which is quite personal.

For example, the song "Godspeed" was born out of a shared experience when both of us felt troubled and sad by someone, we shared a sense a feeling that goes along with the track. The loss of this person, that feeling was abrupt and difficult to process. They created the beat in that emotional state, and later, Norah perfectly matched it with her lyrics and flow. We made some changes to the composition to make it fully cohesive, but it stands as a clear example of how close to the heart this album is.

From tracks one to sixteen, a whole story is waiting for you to explore. Along the way, some friends joined our sessions, enriching the storyline with amazing features. And this is just the beginning. Norah isn’t slowing down - she’s releasing a small cassette album with Kevin van Belen, which will also be available at Platypus Records in Amsterdam.
