Mind 3 EP by Jamie Fielding

Jamie Fielding steps up to Jamie Jones' Hottrax with three cuts of late-night house in the Mind 3 EP.

Inspired by a life-affirming DJ set from the Hottrax label boss back in 2018, Fielding set out to purchase his own set of decks and production equipment the very next day. Fast forward to 2021 and the Clacton-based DJ/producer is now set to make his debut on Jones' revered imprint with a set of mind-melting house tracks.

Spectral delights and minimalism is on firm display throughout the release, with lead track "Mind 3" combining ghostly vocals with crisp, bumpy percussion as the track twists and turns through an unusual yet engaging arrangement. "It's A Vibe" with Daley G sees the duo deploy explosive low end and tripped out FX to maximum effect, coming correct with a heads-down vibe throughout.

The stripped-back "Work It" rounds off the release, with hypnotic vocal chops and punchy low end making their mark across the track: a consistent theme throughout the EP. With an impressive debut on the label, Fielding cements himself as one to watch, while also contributing to the unstoppable force of Jones' venerable Hottrax.
