Thomas Helsoot is a revered underground presence thanks to his mastery of melodic grooves. His "Let's Pretend" and "Take Care" singles on Get Physical became mainstays in the sets of many prominent DJs. He also landed on Poesie Musik, Domino, and This Never Happened since fully branching out independently, having started working behind the scenes for artists like Diplo. Helsloot already crafted epic hits like "Because You Move Me," which has over 400 million plays on Spotify alone, remixes for Bob Moses and Fritz Kalkbrenner, and is back with more magic here in cahoots with London solo artist Jono McCleery. He is a Ninja Tune mainstay who has toured with Gil Scott Heron, Bonobo, and Jose Gonzales.
Their "One Step" is an epic emotional adventure with Jono's tender vocals sweeping the heart as the church-like chords rise through the mix. A melodic bassline brings extra melancholy to this most profound and cultured unifying house anthem.
