Our Story EP by Ramyen

Ramyen is a longtime lover of house and a student of the genre with his own instinctive take. His groovy, emotional sound moves naturally between melodic sensitivity and more driving textures on respected labels such as Rose Avenue and Knee Deep In Sound, helping him earn an international profile. Now he launches Mellow Records as an extension of the universe he has built around Mellow over the past few years, and as a platform dedicated to sharing his clear and honest musical vision, with a focus on exciting new French artists.

The label reflects a sound that is deeply connected to the energy of the dancefloor, the atmosphere of the parties, and the broader world surrounding Mellow. Rather than being defined by a single genre, Mellow is driven by a mindset: keeping things simple, trusting instinct, and always delivering the right feeling at the right moment. Designed as a space for freedom, Mellow Records exists both to release original music and to highlight a new generation of French artists with a strong and distinctive identity. Each release is intended to play a specific role, contributing to a broader and coherent musical direction, much like tracks within a DJ set. Its sound can be described as sexy house: groove, emotion, energy, and attitude. Eclectic, yet always intentional. This is only the beginning. From here, Mellow Records will define its own voice and its own sound.

The opener, "Our Story," is chunky and deep, with a rolling bassline and a timeless vocal that captures what makes the house music community so special. Subtle synths bring a future feel, and there's a quality that throws back to early house anthems on the likes of Subliminal Sessions. Remixer Alonz is a new-school artist with releases on labels including Collecting Dots. His rework is a funky, playful one that bumps the beats and reworks the bass into something more acrobatic, while the original vocal gets perfectly chopped and screwed.

The fantastic second original, "Jack Italiano," has a steamier sound, blending dark, moody whispers with exotic female vocals. The bass is elastic and dubby, the drums hit with warmth, and all manner of FX, off-grid pianos, and icy hits bring the groove to life and keep dancers locked.
