The Bass EP by Kellie Allen

A leader in the UK's underground party scene, working with some of the biggest names in the game, from Jamie Jones to The Martinez Brothers and Maceo Plex to Hot Since 82, the Moody Disco brand kickstarts its label launch with a treble, tapping London-born talent Kellie Allen for the debut release. The Rinse FM resident has credits on top labels such as PIV, MicroHertz, and Moxy Muzik and delivers once again here with "The Bass EP," featuring pumping remixes from Jansons and Ashkaan.

Title cut "The Bass" is a superbly chunky house cut with balmy pads injecting warmth and soul as vocal yelps further pump the party, making for an irresistible new school jam. Allen then offers "Kept U Waiting," a fusion of diffused, soft-edged chords and swirling pads with dynamic deep house drums that will have dancefloor in raptures.

Up first on remix duties is PIV and Hot Creations mainstay Jansons, who has done it all from sleek minimal to jacking house. His take on "The Bass" allows lush chords to loop around a pulsating bassline and smooth drums, which will lead to absolute take-off on the floor. Label head Ashkaan then steps up with his production debut, serving up a stunning rework of "Kept U Waiting." Having established Moody Disco as one of the UK's most respected parties, he has been a key part of the UK underground since 2010 and solidified his reputation as one of the South Coast's leading DJs. He now shows his production skills with a perfect fusion of slick tech and emotive house sonics on the B-side.
