WTFA EP by Bora Uzer & Dennis Cruz
Bora Uzer and Dennis Cruz make a collaborative studio debut on BotaniQ with the two-track EP, WTFA.
Following their first hybrid B2B on the Solid Grooves terrace at DC10 back in 2024, Bora Uzer and Dennis Cruz have continued to cross paths behind the decks, developing a natural chemistry that now makes its way into the studio for the first time. Their debut collaboration, "WTFA," forms the centerpiece of the latest BotaniQ release, with label head honcho Cruz also going solo on "Mango Juice," pairing two different sides of his current sound across the two-track EP.
"WTFA" centers on Bora's distinctive vocal presence and live-instrument feel, with a funk-loaded groove leading the track as it ebbs and flows through vibrant spheres. Stepping out solo, "Mango Juice" shifts the focus to Cruz's trademark percussive universe, delivering a hypnotic, tumbling weave of loose drum grooves that contrast with the sweeping vocal interjections and subtle background interludes.
Turkish multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bora Uzer has built a distinctive live sound around guitar, synths, pedals, loopers and vocals, taking his hybrid performances to stages including Tomorrowland, Zamna, CORE Medellín, Solid Grooves Ibiza and Pacha Ibiza, where he has held a residency with the legendary Flower Power series - all while serving up a kaleidoscopic catalog of music via his own OJO imprint.
