Butane presents Dirt, Worldwide EP

Continuing his explorations within house, techno, minimal, and beyond, it’s safe to say San Francisco-based DJ, producer, and label boss Andrew Rasse, aka Butane remains an artist at the top of his game when it comes to crafting functional, intuitive dance floor material. Kicking off the New Year with yet more classy and quality house efforts, late January sees Rasse deliver Extrasketch’s first output of 2023 as he unveils three fresh cuts in typically slick fashion with his "Dirt, Worldwide EP".

Lead track "Club Foot" employs a killer organic tech house groove guided by rolling drums and shakers. Winding along effortlessly, the subtly hypnotic, infectious tune shapes up to be a low-key terrace anthem. Next, "Voice Inside (Filbert Street Mix)" veers off into a slightly wonky and off-kilter warehouse trip as fuzzy analog bass patterns merge with warped vocal interjections and skippy percussion for a decidedly mind-meets-body affair.

"Whatcha Doin" closes the package on a smoother, dubby note. Harnessing a slightly eerie tension across the track, Rasse deftly drops some ear candy in the form of a cheeky vocal sample while harnessing those signature Butane elements. Another late-night mover in the bag.
