Born in Venezuela but currently based in Barcelona, emerging DJ/producer Rafa Alemán may only be young in his musical career. Still, he has already racked up a solid body of work with releases on Habitat, Sticker Music, and more while holding an impressive residency at City Hall in his adopted hometown. Having shared the booth with names such as Eddy M, Miguel Bastida, and Stefano Noferini, he now adds his most notable release milestone to his journey as he heads to Stacey Pullen's Blackflag Recordings imprint, with the Detroit icon inviting him to the label to deliver his "B Wayne" EP.
Rolling and percussive heavy, "So Seductive" harnesses an infamous hip-hop sample at its core and marches forth armed with skippy drums for a groove-heavy opening cut. At the same time, the title track, "B Wayne," keeps the vox sample use prominent, this time-warping and rewinding phrases and calls while employing rich percussion arrangements and an acid-dipped bassline for more dancefloor-focused material.
