Ahead of an upcoming album on bORDEL Records later this year, Newem serves up a tantalizing new single from it.

Newem is the solo project of Sebastien Chenut from the acclaimed Scratch Massive pair. He composes soundtracks for fiction and documentaries and now lives in Los Angeles. This new alias sees him craft a futuristic and melancholic musical universe as demonstrated on this single and the upcoming album on the label he co-founded with Maud Geffray. The LP will feature collaborations with Curses and Prudence. The single comes with its own video, shot in downtown LA which depicts a late-night drive through the muted neon lights of a modern urban metropolis.
The immersive single is rich in synth craft and otherwordly vocals. They drift about the airwaves over sustained and pained chords. The drums and bass are rubbery but jittery and expansive pads blow things wide open at the mid-point. It's a track that conveys hope in a world of struggle.
