Detroit 89 EP by Jacopo Susini

Italy's Jacopo Susini joins Nicole Moudaber's MOOD with the "Detroit 89" three-tracker. Inspired by Motor City sounds, the title track surges with machine soul via its upright, punchy drum funk. Its filters solve complex patterns as its relentless percussion keeps the dancers nailed to the floor. "Remember" then puts the pressure up with hurried loops that tumble over themselves, dark vocals and sonar-like blips adding to the intensity of this peak-time dancefloor offering. Last up, "That Is" sees Susini bring more spirited Techno with well-laid-out stabs and jacked-up drums that won't fail to keep the floor entranced.
