Digitise with Danny Snowden

With references to the 90s, yet crafting slick house cuts loaded with groove and energy made for the now and the future, UK-based DJ/producer Danny Snowden has quickly seen his records finding favor amongst leading names such as Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Chris Stussy, and Enzo Siragusa. After making his label debut last year on LOCUS' ongoing Various Artist series LOCUSTRAX, he returns with a five-track selection of summer heat as Siragusa welcomes him back for his first EP on the imprint with "Digitise."

"I'm Seeing Double" opens the show with a swathe of groove-driven arrangements, swirling synths, and tripped-out vocals, all layered over an acid-dipped bassline that erupts to take hold. The title cut, "Digitse," is distinctly bubbly, merging wandering melodies with yet more commanding bass grooves, while "Intu" takes up a similar aesthetic as Snowden crafts a hazy yet impactful tip. Next, the skippy "Wilderness" brings crisp drums, playful wildlife samples, and zipping lasers to proceedings before closing with the all-action and menacing breaks-infused "Rejected."
