From his breakthrough single "Turned Turk" on Solid Grooves through to his heavy-hitting collaboration "Different Side" alongside Audiobully's and Michael Bibi, Mexican-born DJ/producer KinAhau has stepped into the spotlight as one of the most talked about ‘new names' within the game. Still only 20 years old, his rapid ascent has come heavily intertwined with the support and mentorship provided by Solid Grooves founder Bibi over recent years, while featuring heavily in the sets of artists such as Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Joseph Capraiti.

Making his Revival New York debut in style, early November brings with it the release of his latest single "Subject Study" a track which quickly found its place as one of Bibi's go-to records across recent years.

There is no music in my life without Michael's input. Through his records and the sound he has built via Solid Grooves since the day I decided to pursue music as a way of living, his ideas have always shaped what I do; and today, also the why and how I do. After ‘Different Side', this was the next record he played from the first batch of music I shared with him. I saw a story he posted playing it at Circoloco in NYC in 2021, and from there, for the next year and a half, there were only a handful of cities where I didn't find a video of him rinsing it.

It was amazing. I probably sent that same record to 200 other DJs and producers before, and from those who took some time to answer, all of them but one said it was terrible and didn't think it worked. I think that's something all bedroom artists, such as myself, go through daily, but the fact that after so much rejection, Michael not only played it to thousands of people but also got back to me, encouraged me to share it, and most importantly, trusted my sound and ideas, meant the world. It was something no one had ever said to me, and the impact of that has stayed with me and will do for the rest of my life.

The collaboration with Michael and Audiobullys was something out of a movie, it opened many doors for me, and things changed. Those 200 DJs who ignored "Subject Study" were listening to it, giving me some amazing feedback, and even playing it. However, as much as I've enjoyed all that has come with the record, the biggest thing of all, and what I think I'll take to the grave, was working with Michael. I knew already - with or without collaboration - what an amazing artist he was, but I learned what type of human I wanted to be. I met an incredibly kind, good-hearted, respectful, hard-working, and genuine person, and after working with him, he was not only my reference as an artist but also as a human being. Michael didn't have any reason to support a random person, yet he selflessly did, and the impact he has had on my life is one of the things I cherish the most. He was the first person ever to treat me the way he did. All the support from everyone has been amazing, and I couldn't be more grateful, but meeting your hero and discovering who you want to be is a lesson I'll carry and share for as long as possible.

Crafted around heavy low-end grooves, with playful sax melodies, sporadic vocal interjections, and killer percussion arrangements, "Subject Study" is an instantly recognizable cut set to build on the memorable impact already created over the past 24 months.
