It is now more than 25 years since Hønefoss-based pair Jens Petter Nilsen and Hallvard Hagen first started making music together. Since then, they have become underground heroes known for curious and creative minds and out-of-the-ordinary beat work, unusual melodies, and original rhythms. They dropped their seminal debut album "Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents" on Beatservice Records in 2000. They have continued to collide genres with a second album on Sony, then one more on Beatservice. Now, 13 years since that last outing, they are back with a much anticipated full length from which this single is taken.

The off-kilter "Optimal Meat To Bread Ratio" starts with singing synth lines and a clattering jumble of drums that merges into a delicate broken beat rhythm steeped in freeform jazz energy. As the track unfolds, the brain is cleansed and then boggled by the pure melodies and digital synthesis, the dense layers of sound, and the increasingly frantic rhythms that all ping about the mix like popping corn. It is a hugely accomplished track packed with ordered chaos.
