Ravers of the Universe by Ben Evers

Accomplished house mainstay Ben Evers is stepping out on his own with a new solo project on Permanent Vacation at the start of 2024.

Ben Evers has worked for many years as one half of Adana Twins and, in that time, has achieved it all - chart-topping singles, DJ gigs all over the world at the most influential clubs and festivals, and releases on top labels as well as running the Planet TAU empire with cohort Jan Friso. For the three tracks on this EP, he combines uplifting vocals, piano riffs, and ravey atmospherics to great effect.

"Raver of the Universe" opens with vintage sounds that soon lift the dance floor off their feet. The rising synths and energetic chords are powered by jacking four-by-four drums that exude inescapable energy. There is an oh-so-familiar sample on the fantastic "Vamporizer," a jostling and party-starting house cut with thumping drums and raved-up stabs that get hands in the air. Last but not least is "The Journey," another full-flavored house cut packed with percussive texture, compelling rhythms, and bright chords that add color next to the rapped and amped-up vocals.
