Restive EP by S-File

S-File has been a part of the techno underground since the 90s, releasing on labels such as Gary Beck's BEK Audio, UNCAGE, and On Edge Society, alongside his own GND and Black Traxx Series imprints. With support over the years from some of the scene's most prominent DJs, from Dave Clarke and Ben Sims to Luke Slater and Laurent Garnier, his music brings a mix of powerful club tools and more peak-time material, with his own sets all over the world where he blends banging, pure and deeper techno. Opening the New Year in style, he now makes his label debut on Ilario Alicante's Virgo imprint with his four-track "Restive EP."

The title track, "Restive," kicks things off with compelling drum programming that is tight, and hypnotic and grows ever more funky amongst big hits and rising synths, followed by the intense pressure of "Tender Roam" with its spraying synth leads and pixelated melodic motifs adding light and soul. "Addicted" then races straight ahead into a dark future with hulking kicks and shimmering synth modulations, bringing plenty of dynamism to the drums, while "Planet Claire" is a hi-tech soul cut with sustained synths locking you into a trance as the sleek drums carry you into another dimension.
