XYZ (Part One) by Cari Lekebusch
Techno legend Cari Lekebusch debuts on Mind Medizin with the first of the new two-part EP series, XYZ.

Stockholm-based sound architect Cari Lekebusch has helped shape the underground's sound for the past two decades. He has long been at the heart of his native scene alongside peers such as Adam Beyer and Joel Mull. He heads up his own H. Productions label and serves his timeless sounds on cultured outlets such as Drumcode and Planet Rhythm. This first EP for Lady Tazz's Mind Medizin finds him in typically excellent form across four potent cuts.
The opener, "Mind and Matter," features quick, compelling drum programming and trippy synth details peeling off the beats. Muttered vocals bring a dark intensity, and the percussion adds layers of tension. The fantastic "Freakout" is another classically inclined, linear techno banger with thudding kicks and futuristic synth lines weaving in and out of the beats.
There is no let-up in the pressure with the excellent "Ninguno es Uno," keeping it deep, driving, and late at night, this time with squelchy acid lines adding character. "Heritage" shuts down with a hypnotic blend of shimmering cosmic synth lines and pulsing deep techno drums that keep the mind and body fully locked in.
